About M V Proudmary

The M.V. Proudmary has been built primarily of wood hand crafted to perfection by some of the best traditional boats builders and guided by the qualified technical know-how of M/s Contrans, Goa.

The base structure of the ship is of wood while the other major portions of the boat have been crafted out of bamboo using traditional methods that have been passed down over many generations.

The M.V. Proudmary an eco-friendly houseboat draws a part of its energy requirement from the sun (solar energy) saving natural resources and in turn helping you give back what you get from the earth.

Basic Structure
The hull is a series of wooden planks, long cut and carved by the expert hands of the carpenter, designed and modeled to adapt for the new demands and functions.

Furnishings in Houseboat
The interior furniture are either of cane or wood, floor carpeted with coir mat or wood panels. Valavara of panambu, mula and coir all colours matching each other but bring the depth and variations in vision.

Colour and texture of Houseboat
The colour of the craft is yellowish brown, which is the colour of the natural materials like panambu, coir and bamboo. It is a warmer colour comparing to the colour of the surrounding atmosphere. This gives nice feeling of being inside a natural shelter.
